Some love stories deserve a second chapter.

Jane and Ross were married during Covid—a time when so many couples had to let go of the wedding they imagined. Like many others, they did not have the opportunity to have professional wedding photos taken. No full celebration. No portraits to frame. No gallery to look back on.

Years later, they decided it was time.

To celebrate their anniversary, Jane and Ross chose to step back into their wedding attire and create the images they never had. Their session at the North Carolina Museum of Art, formerly known as SECCA, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was equal parts meaningful, emotional, and beautifully full circle.

Reclaiming a Moment That Was Missed

This session was not about recreating their wedding day. It was about honoring their journey.

Jane slipped back into her wedding dress. Ross put on his suit. But this time, there was no rush, no restrictions, and no uncertainty. Just the two of them, standing together with years of life already behind them.

There was something incredibly powerful about watching them experience this moment on their own terms.

SECCA / North Carolina Museum of Art: A Meaningful Backdrop

The North Carolina Museum of Art in Winston-Salem, formerly known as SECCA, offered the perfect setting for this session. The clean architecture, thoughtful design, and peaceful outdoor spaces created an elevated yet timeless atmosphere.

SECCA’s modern lines paired beautifully with their classic wedding attire, creating images that feel editorial while still deeply personal. The space allowed the focus to remain on their connection—quiet moments, soft laughter, and the kind of closeness that comes from walking through life together.

Why Anniversary Sessions Matter

Anniversary sessions are about more than photos. They are about reflection, celebration, and choosing to pause in the middle of life’s movement.

For Jane and Ross, this session was a chance to finally document their love in a way that felt complete. The images they created together now tell a fuller story—one of resilience, patience, and commitment through an uncertain time.

These photographs are not replacements for what was missed. They are something new, something earned.

Our Approach to Anniversary Photography

We approach anniversary sessions the same way we approach weddings—with intention, respect, and a focus on connection. We guide gently, allowing couples to move naturally and be fully present with one another.

Jane and Ross needed very little direction. Their comfort with each other was evident in every frame. The result was a gallery of images that feel authentic, emotional, and quietly powerful.

Planning an Anniversary or Wedding-Attire Session

If you were married during Covid—or if your wedding day did not unfold the way you hoped—it is never too late to create meaningful images.

Anniversary sessions, vow renewals, and wedding-attire portraits offer a chance to reclaim moments, celebrate growth, and honor your story exactly as it is now.

We photograph anniversary sessions throughout Winston-Salem, Clemmons, and surrounding North Carolina areas, including meaningful locations like SECCA.

If you are ready to create images that reflect not just a day, but a journey, we would love to be part of it.
